Work: Everyday Typography

“Everyday Typography” was an exercise in creating a poster that displayed typography in everyday situations. I choose to approach the project by examining how type is affected over time when placed within the reach of people. The image used is of the text on a parking meter, which someone had taken the time to gouge and scratch at, basically rendering it unreadable.

Work: Naples45 Menu Redesign

Another redesign excersise resulted in a new menu and logo for the modern Italian restaurant, Naples 45, based in New York City. The cover of the menu is made of a translucent vellum with the logo and menu designation printed in a modern typeface. Inside, special attention was paid to the heriarchy of information to make things easy to figure out, while the last page received a splash of color that corresponds with the logo on the cover.

Work: BATF Annual Report Redesign

Part of a project to redesign the annual report for the Brooklyn AIDS Task Force. The cover was designed to be eye catching, allowing the report to stand out on a desk full of similar reports. The choice of images and image treatment on the inside was meant to ackowledge the epidemic without focusing on the medical side of the problem.
